Our strategy has been to set up a Young Dorset Barbarians girls and women’s team...whereby we can help girls and women from other clubs who are not getting enough game time or experience due to low female numbers i.e.  five at one club, 3 at another and so on.

As a Barbarians team we are not a club but an organisation open to any club or school who are free to have girls and ladies come from clubs and schools to enjoy rugby and its benefits.

These girls and ladies will represent their own club or school and therefore won’t need to feel bad about playing for Young Dorset as they will still be members of their own club.

We already have school girls who don’t have an association to clubs and would promote their signing up to those clubs that would be interested.

Young Dorset Charity has agreed to help with funding opportunities and transportation with its minibus. This will help us hold training as various clubs to promote
girls and women's rugby in local communities and help raise the profile.
